Who We Are
Mission Statement
The Mission of the Sylvan Lake Seniors Association is to provide for the recreation, social well-being, and artistic expression of seniors of Sylvan Lake and area and to contribute to the education and social well-being of the community.
History
Our group was founded in 1966 under the name of the Sylvan Lake Friendship Club. In 1974, it was registered as an Alberta Society. In 2001, we filed for Federal Charity Status (Not-for-Profit). In 2001, the name was changed to the Sylvan Lake Seniors Association. In 2017, we moved to 'the NexSource Centre under a leasehold agreement with the Town of Sylvan Lake in exchange for $100,000 donation and our old building (value was $477,450.00).
